Boho Chic Wedding Style in Montecito
This look incorporated a fresh combination of antiques and vintage family heirlooms borrowed to blend the couple’s bohemian style with their love of elegant and charming touches. The décor was enhanced by fresh floral elements; escort card/favor bags of burlap with dried floral decorative elements filled with lemon drops and with fresh chamomile peeking out of the top; bride and groom chair signs created from pieces of old wood, assorted beads, and other found objects; chandeliers hanging from the majestic oaks, and a lovely couples’ table set with antique linens, old silver and aged pewter vessels filled with yellow and white flowers, and daisy-garnished menu cards peeking out of pocket-folded crisp white linens.

What could be more lovely than a June wedding at San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito? It was made even lovelier by the gorgeous couple and their outrageously fun friends. Great food, fun music, and a great looking, fun loving bunch of friends, this couple had it all!
Cocktail Party Celebrating

Adesso For Dream Foundation Jewelry Collection
Merryl Brown Events created a gorgeous afternoon and evening cocktail party and press dinner overlooking the Pacific Ocean at the lovely Coral Casino in Montecito. The party was a coral-themed soiree, replete with coral-colored and coral motif linen tablecloths from La Tavola, fabulous custom cocktails made with muddled blood orange, vodka, agave nectar and Prosecco, and delicious ocean-inspired canapés.
35th Birthday Party in the Garden
An eclectic group of friends of the birthday girl gathered for cocktails and fabulous hors d’oeuvres in the outdoor living room created just for the occasion under the branches of an old avocado tree. The trees and walls were uplit with the amber glow of LED lighting; guests chatted as Italian music played softly in the background. All event generated waste was professionally sorted, with the majority of waste going to recycling or to the food composting facility. All edible table décor was either given to guests, staff or brought to the homeless shelter kitchen the following day. A festive and memorable evening of food, wine, music and friends, was expertly orchestrated by the team at Merryl Brown Events.
International Special Event Society (ISES) Meeting
Merryl Brown Events hosted the ISES May meeting in Montecito, CA. Floral design by Adrienne Carrere and floral containers from Ventura Rentals Party Center, food by Buenaventura Catering, valet parking by Signature Parking, rentals by Classic Party Rentals. The speaker was Eric Greenspan from Make it Work.
The Howard School 2010 Fundraiser - “La Belle France”
Our French-themed fundraiser for 160 guests re-created a French marketplace in a lovely park setting in Carpinteria, CA. The event featured custom designed village shops including: a patisserie and boulangerie filled with freshly baked pastries and breads, a chocolaterie, a fromagerie, a librairie with dozens of children’s books in French, a carterie with cards made by the children that were inspired by French monuments, a bistro, a bar and a marche des fleurs filled with Carpinteria-grown flowers.
Cos Bar Montecito Grand Opening Party
A great evening of cocktails and hors d’oeuvres to celebrate the grand opening of the Cos Bar in Montecito. This invitation-only party was packed with a chic, local crowd and featured wines, signature “White COSmos”, cheeses, dried fruits, and olives from C’est Cheese, modeling of spring attire from Dressed and Ready, LED uplighting, a behind the scenes waste sorting station with recycling, food composting and a nearly empty landfill bin.
Cocktail Party for SBJHS New Parents
This event which celebrated the new incoming families going to SBJHS featured cheeses and charcuterie from C’est Cheese, homegrown organic roses, paperless invitations, and was a nearly waste-free event.
Culinary Masterpieces of Santa Barbara
Culinary Masterpieces of Santa Barbara was a great collaborative effort between Merryl Brown Events, the Community Environmental Council (CEC) and Gay Browne Founder and CEO of Greenopia. We invited several vendors to participate in this wonderful event, each of whom donated a percentage of their proceeds back to the CEC.

Moroccan Luncheon in New York
Lovely luncheon in New York to celebrate a 50th anniversary and to commemorate 30 years of service to a Presidential Library.
Elegant Montecito Soiree
All centerpieces were donated after the event, containers were collected later for reuse, gift bags were made of organic cotton and contained local wine, honey, pistachios and olive oil all wrapped in recycled content tissue paper, all uplighting was LED.
Protect Our Dolphins
Only vegetarian food was served at this event. Local produce was used for many of the dishes. Zucchini gluten-free cupcakes, vegan cupcakes and dolphin themed cupcakes were served. A Merryl Brown Events staff member sorted all waste generated by the event; leftover wheatgrass was used for tortoise food after the event, other excess food from the event was donated to Casa Esperanza, a homeless shelter in Santa Barbara.
