This is a photo of one of my favorite small sustainable events this year! We had the great honor of planning, hosting and attending a dinner for the amazing author, Michael Pollan. The talented team of Ashley and Brian at Duo Catering created a fabulous menu of local, seasonal fare with great wines and locally brewed beer. It was, for me, an evening that I will never forget, as Michael Pollan is truly one of the great inspirations of my life. If you have not read his books, you must buy them and read them, as they are real game changers: The Omnivore’s Dilemma, In Defense of Food, The Botany of Desire, Food Rules. These are my favorites, though there are others too. He has a wonderful mind and a great sense of humor! I am indebted to the Orfalea Foundation for asking me to plan this magical evening.
